FINDtheSHIT had exclusive passes to attend the screening for Deadbeats, and this is what we feel about it. From the ghetto to the lingo to the logo, this show is so hilariously stuck in the ’00s that I actually had to look it up to make sure that it wasn’t meant to be set twenty years prior. I would have still questioned it, had it not been for the use of smartphones — well played, Deadbeats. I guess this just leaves one question as far as this inevitably short-lived series goes: Do the writers know less about being a high school student or about working in the baby sitting industry?
Archie and Romeo are your day to day under achievers. They’ve got big dreams and ambitions but no will power. When their room mate Sammie comes out of hiding to collect rent money, the boys find themselves with empty pockets. To find quick cash they come up with a new childish business idea every month. They believe it will make them millionaires but more importantly stable enough to pay the rent. Will Archie and Romeo survive another month, or get kicked to the curb? I’m sure that won’t come into play by the time the show gets cancelled.
